Section 8 apartments?

Hi!.well I live in santa ana ca. And I am on section 8 (equal opertunity housing) and my budget is 1315 and its hard to find a 2 bedrrom for that much but I need to move asap and I found some apartments and I was denied because my credit ..I only have a tmobile bill a sprint bill (like 7 years ago) and a time warner bill (2 years ago).so the manager said they might be able to help me by making me pay a higher deposit..what do u think the odds are of me getting that apartment?
