A bug under my skin?I finally popped it out and now there's puss what's going on?

For a month now I noticed a black mole like thing on my shoulder blade. it protrudes. I picked at it and several times the scab got scratched off. i finally "popped" it and it looks like an insect i can't be 100% sure and i lost this parasitic? specimen. What is this? How did I get this? Its not like I have been to the slums of India in the past month.
